The Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) has determined the Innovation leaders with the first innovation development program of Turkey. Standing out as the herald of the novelties and firsts in its industry, İnci Akü got the first place in the category “Organisation and Culture of Innovation” in the competition in which the most innovative companies of Turkey are elected in 5 different categories.

Through the first innovation development program, İnovaLİG, TİM determined the Innovation leaders of Turkey. The competition includes the assessment of the finalists in 5 different categories during the innovation week 2014. The ceremony was held at the Istanbul

Convention Center on Saturday, December 6th. The winners were rewarded by the President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Perihan İnci, President of İnci Holding, received the award on behalf of İnci Akü, the winner in the category “Organisation and Culture of Innovation”.

Emphasizing that innovation had become an integral part of İnci Holding’s corporate culture, Perihan İnci said that “İnci Akü, the flagship of our Group, honoured us by receiving the first place in the category of “Innovation and Organisation Culture”. Innovation will shape the future. As İnci Akü, we are aware of this fact, and thus we place innovation in the center of all our business processes. I owe a debt of gratitude to all my colleagues who had a hand in this significant and invaluable achievement. I also congratulate the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly who planned the Innovation Week for the third time this year. .”

How did İnovaLİG operate?

The companies who enrolled in İnovaLİG went through a comprehensive survey assessment as the first phase. During the first phase, the participants were provided with weekly and monthly notifications and innovation-oriented training materials. Afterwards, conferences with the participating companies were held to increase the innovative competence. At the end of each phase, the participating companies received comparative analyses consisting approximately 100 pages in which its own competence were compared with their peers in the local and international markets. Thanks to such comparative analysis report, the companies got the chance of assessing themselves within the framework of the five categories in the IMP3rove innovation management methodology of A.T. Kearney.

After the surveys, 250 companies with the best scores were invited to the first round event. Following the event, the reports of the companies were examined by the İnovaLİG jury and 50 companies were elected in five different categories.These 50 comapnies were eligible to compete in the semi-finals. In August 2014, semi-finalists submitted 15 minute presentations in which they described their approaches to innovation management. 25 companies elected upon these presentations were eligible to compete in the finals.
